Oh the news...

So today as I was perusing the different news websites I realized that other countries don't really play around with their news like we do.

Here are some screen shots from MSN and BBC.

See if you can notice the difference in the top headlines:

Here is BBC:
Iraq?! Earthquakes?! Boys?!

shocking.

Now here is MSN:

Pole Dancing Doll? Really?

I kinda see why people view Americans as Red-neck, sex crazed, right-winged, T.V. Junkies.

I mean, look at the top five "Hot Topics".

Geez America.

P.S. The Pole Dancing Doll sparked my fancy.

Surprised?

But....OMG guys it's ridiculous.

I will post about it soon.

Rant Alert: Dear Roland Emmerich:

You're an asshole.

Lemme rewind.

Ronland Emmerich is the director of the upcoming film 2012, which is claiming to be an accurate depiction of the events that are "going to happen" in December of 2012.

Now, I think all of this 2012 non sense is stupid and fanatic. The world is not going to end in 2012. Just like it didn't end in the year 2000, just like it didn't end on 6/6/06.

Propaganda.

I'm not worried about the actual world ending.

I am, however, worried about the affect all this non sense is beginning to have on the people around me.

One of the marketing campaigns of Emmerich's 2012 is an organization called the Institute for Human Continuity.
Basically, according to Assosiated Content the website is this:
"The Institute for Human Continuity (IHC) is a glossy looking website that one can access to pretend that the apocalyptic events predicted to occur in 2012 will in fact occur and that one can do something to secure one's survival. The Institute for Human Continuity (IHC) is the latest of the kind of Internet viral campaign that has become common to advertise things like upcoming films and TV shows."

Now let me explain.

Basically, the people who are making this movie are preying on people's fears about this upcoming date in order to make money on their film, by advertising this organization without explaining that it is in fact not a real company but in fact a piece from their film. Now, I will admit it is a smart campaign but it really irritates me. Here is why:

I guess I am just concerned about the crazy stuff people are going to do in preparation for this event. People do drastic things when they are scared, and I don't like the fact that this film is aiding in hyping up this event even more than it already is.

So bottom line: If you see commercials for the Institute for Human Continuity, don't worry, its just hollywood.
I just don't want people to stress.
Also, if God was going to end the world, I don't think he would want to tip everyone off with such a specific date. Mark 13 anyone?
"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Now I know I am not the epitamy of the christian faith, but maybe someone who is concerned about this stuff will take some solace.

Just be be happy today and love the people in your life.

I love you all.

Sorry for the rant.

xoxo?

There is a show coming this fall on Fox and is SO freaking cool and I cannot WAIT for it!

The pilot episode aired last week and it is SO SO GOOD!

Here are my reasons for loving it:

1: Jayma Mays from Epic Movie and Mall Cop.

2: Lea Michele from Spring Awakening! (And yes she sings in it frequently)

3: Jane Lynch from Best in Show and tons of other amazing movies!

4: It is a musical television series! AH!

I can't even wait till the fall when it is on the air regularly. It is Ryan Murphy so imagine High School Musical Meets Nip/Tuck which, I mean, what more could you ask for?

Jon, Kate & Bry plus Eight...

One of my latest television obsessions is "Jon & Kate Plus Eight". I can't get enough of it people!

Jon & Kate are crazy and hate each other but those kids are so damn precious! I love them!

Watching them all grow up together makes me want to have some chillens of my own someday.

I especially love Aaden. He is so adorable with his wittle gwasses. Look at him! He looks like a bite-sized little scientist or something.

The clip below is from the episode where they get two dogs (because they don't have enough to deal with). As all of the kids run around and play with the puppies Aaden hides in the corner because "he's afwaid of dawgs".

If you don't want to watch the whole video fast forward to 8:10 so you can see poor Aaden cowering in fear as one of the giant German Shepards decides he wants to play with only kid that doesn't want to see him. Poor kid.

P.S.

Jon and/or Kate, if you are reading this, no offense about the crazy thing. I love you guys too. Lets hang out sometime.

Child Abuse has never been so fun: Toddlers & Tiaras

Ok, has anyone from Social Services seen this show?!

Its awful!

I mean child padgents are terrible as they are but why are we validating them by giving them a time slot?!

Do people know this is a reality show? This isn't like an episode of Big Love or something, this stuff is actually happening to these poor girls.

I dunno for sure but I think little girls already have self esteem issues without being paraded around like prized cattle and then judged against their peers.

Every little girl's dream right?

Here is a clip of the show for anyone who hasn't see it:

I just wanna buy a farm, adopt all these girls, take the vaseline off of their teeth and let them run free!

I Love the Lovato...

If you read my blog or know ANYTHING about my life you know I am a fan of High School Musical. For many reasons:

  1. Job Security
  2. Catchy Music
  3. Attractive Young Adults
So naturally when I heard the concept of Camp Rock I was extremely opposed to the idea. High School Musical is supposed to be the only Disney Channel Musical. Stop being a copy cat Jonas Brothers! When it premiered on the Disney Channel I watched it (for research purposes) and was happy to see that it was awful.

One good thing came from Camp Rock for me though. A little gem named Demi Lovato. She is the ingenue in the "film" (I use that term loosely) and she wasn't that amazing in it. But what do you expect Disney has crappy scripts.

HOWEVER

I then went onto i tunes and downloaded her single "Get Back" and I was instantly in love. This girl has some pipes and a good producer. If you are a fan of rock-but-more-like-pop-but-we-still-call-it-rock music you will be a fan.

If you turn your attention to your ears you should hear her singing this moment. The reason being that this week or month or however long I decide to keep it up, the music on Myself in Center will be purely Demi.

So enjoy it cause it isn't gonna change anytime soon.

:)

Oh and here is her music video for "Get Back". She is so adorable I love her. And her awesome gloves. My favorite is the little look she gives at 1:20. SO precious

Disney 365 Bry Edition...

So this post is nothing but straight up egotism and pride. Just so you know. Anywho as you may have heard, I do this parade everyday called Block Party Bash (The Trail Of Tears). It is new to the Hollywood studios so a couple months ago the Disney Channel came to do a little segment called "Disney 365". It is a little commercial spot that airs on the Disney Channel and lets people know of what is going on in the Disney company.

Well Brenda Song (Suite Life of Zac & Cody) came with one of the reporters and watched the parade while they filmed it. Basically, I was dancing with them and now I am on TV. Huzzah! So I got the video of it and it is now here for your viewing pleasure.

*note: You can see me for like two seconds at 35 seconds and also near the end at 1.22

This Day In History...

Ok I will be the first to admit that this month's segment "This Day In History" was a flop. It sounded good at the time but then again so did Monica Lewinsky to Bill. Both were bad and fat ideas. I will, however, be persevering cause I'm not a quitter damnit! I will however tell you that next month's segment is much cooler. Or at least it sounds cooler. But you will have to wait till next month for that. But as for the present it's time.

Today, July 27th, in 1940 Bugs Bunny made his official day debut the animated short "A Wild Hare". This is truly a milestone. I mean Bugs basically served as a pseudo parents for millions of neglected kids. And what would Michael Jordon's acting career had done without Bug's Oscar worth performance in the 1996 smash hit "Space Jam"?

Now here is a video featuring 50 years of Bugs Bunny in three minutes.

So She Thinks She Can Judge...

Does anyone else think Mary Murphy is getting a little out of hand? Lets be honest, she hasn't been sober for a single Episode of So You Think You Can Dance this season, her outfits are insane and she thinks every dance is AMAZING!!!!!!! You could probably put a couple of Meerkats up on that stage, give them contemporary costumes, and put on an Elisa song and she would be in love. I think she needs to be the next person voted off.

PROJECT RUNWAY SEASON 5!!!

I'm sorry for the obnoxious caps locks and the unnecessary exclamation points in the header of this post but I just learned something extremely exciting: Project Runway Season Five began filming the first week of June 2008 and will premiere July 16, 2008 at 9 PM! I will give you a sec to stand up and rejoice...

Ok, welcome back. For anyone who has been living under a rock, or some other heavy object, Project Runway is golden. They bring on fashion designers from around the country and give them design challenges where they compete for a number of fabu prizes. It is incredibly addicting. It is up there with cocaine and double stuffed Oreos. For real. So, needless to say, I am thrilled that it is coming back on the air soon. I need to get my fix so the shaking will stop.

God and Futurama

As I go through my life the weirdest things inspire me. Tonight I was enjoying a relaxing night at home by myself. I was doing laundry, cooking dinner and watching TV. I opened the Tivo list and started watching one of my favorite shows Futurama.
The episode began with Bender, a robot from the future getting accidentally mistaken for a torpedo and fired at space pirates by Leela. It isn't as weird as it sounds. Anywho, he gets launched into space and is left to drift there forever. The episode continues and is full of crazy shinanigans and one liners. The thing that really got to me was the final scene. Bender suddenly drifts into a cosmos that he discovers is god. It envelopes him in light and begins to talk to him. Now of course it is a cartoon so the stuff god says isn't exactly inspiring but as I was watching I started to think of how comforting it would be to be floating and completely enveloped in God. I hope that I can experience it someday.

Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search For Elle Woods

I want to commend my friends Rachel and Mara tonight. They were on MTV for Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search For Elle Woods and they were awesome. They totally shouldn't have been cut but like Rachel said:

"It all depends on being in the right place, at the right time, with the right look. I guess the stars just didn't align for me today."

It sucks but I know that they are gonna be amazing in life so I guess this one thing won't matter. I mean who has even heard of this MTV anyway?

Meerkats

So as of late I have become obsessed with the show Meerkat Manor. It is pretty much the coolest thing ever invented by the execs at Animal Planet. Picture this: A bunch of scientists from Cambridge go out into the desert, find a bunch of meerkats (which happen to be the cutest wittle fings ever created), film them for months then make up a dramatic story line from what unfolds. It is like 90210 Meerkat Edition.

It is freaky how much these wittle guys act like humans. There is this one episode where one of the meerkats named Flower gets banished but then she is welcomed back into the family like a month later by her sister, who lets her back in just because she needs a babysitter for her new pups. Anywho when they are reunited they totally run in slow-mo up to each other and give one another a precious meerkat hug. You can't write that stuff!

Bottom line: the most adorable (and only) animal drama on television. Go watch it.

Here is a commercial so you can soak up it's awesomeness right now!
